Slow Cooker Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions
Description
A delicious combination of Italian sausage, peppers, onions, and a tangy tomato sauce. Best of all, it's prepared in a slow cooker so you don't have to fuss over it all day.

In a medium bowl combine tomato puree, garlic, sugar, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly.

In a 6 quart slow cooker place sliced bell peppers and onions, then top with Italian sausage. Pour tomato mixture on top and stir to coat evenly.

Cook on High for 3-4 hours or Low for 6-8 hours. Garnish with basil before serving.
